What types of classes do you offer?

Gym & Tonic offers gentle and functional fitness with a focus on mobility, strength, balance and fall prevention. Options include local in-person group training, one-on-one support and flexible online or on-demand training.

Are classes suitable for beginners or people with health conditions?

Programs are designed to be adaptable for different fitness levels, including adults 55+ and people who may be managing arthritis, Parkinson’s disease or a history of falls. Exercises can be modified for comfort and ability. Medical clearance may be appropriate before starting if your doctor has advised it.

How can strength and balance training help with fall prevention?

Building strength, coordination and balance can help improve stability and confidence during everyday movement. Functional training also supports bone and muscle health as we age.

Do I need special equipment?

Equipment is provided for in-person classes. For online or on-demand workouts, a sturdy chair, light hand weights or resistance bands can be useful, but many exercises can also be adapted to body weight only.
